You may have heard about our new schedule. While you were looking at our new schedule you might have noticed several 15 minute classes that are simply called “Black Belt Club.” If you haven’t heard about our Black Belt Club yet, we are pretty proud of it and we think it’s really exciting. We are kicking off the black belt club on Saturday, January 17, 2015 (which is just a few days away). The Black Belt Club Kick Off is going to be awesome, but it’s not even the most exciting part about Black Belt Club (at least that’s what we think). That’s where the Black Belt Club times come in.

Schedule 2015

You will notice the Black Belt Club times on weekdays at 4:15 and again at 5:15. Then on Saturdays at 10:45 and 11:45. Black Belt Club Members can come to an unlimited number of these times during the week. For every two Black Belt Club times a student can put up a sticker on their class card.

During these times Instructors will help students learn and practice their material. Students are expected to come in ready to practice, they may already have something to work on “Master Joan told me I needed to practice my One Pinion!” Or they may not know what to practice yet “I just got my blue belt and I don’t know anything yet!” Or they might have a general question that’s harder to answer in a regular class “I want to get better at integrating my four ways of fighting.” This will also be an opportunity for senior students to mentor more junior students. This leadership opportunity is exclusively available to Black Belt Club Members.

In summary, the Black Belt Club Times are free. You can come to as many of them as you want. The times will allow students to learn new material, practice and polish material, and also learn how to effectively practice. This will also be a leadership opportunity for senior students interested in learning about mentoring and teaching.
